Love how Felix D’eon’s awesome illustrations work so well on these smartly made Dewey A’Rcey ceramic pieces. I would love to get my hands on a set of these babies.

So I bought a cute vintage “rattan/wood/pie plate” plant stand yesterday and decided to purchase a GIGANTIC Boston Fern to go with it (I love the Boston but they always die on me). Anyhoo… WAY TOO BIG… so big it takes the space of a good-sized chair. So I did what I thought I’d never ever do… replaced my beloved vintage plastic flower display on the fireplace mantle with a real fern. I’m starting to quite like it. It’s taking over in the most delightful way. Lets hope I can keep her alive. I think I’ll name her Tina (after Turner). My maidenhair fern gets the plant stand… I think she’s hot for Tina.
CULLEN MEYER began collecting 1950s décor at 12, starting with a lamp adorned with the face of a Nubian princess (he goes in for kitsch), and by the time he turned 25, two years ago, he harbored the great dream of any collector: finding a place to display his stuff.
Finally found the perfect fake flaming logs for my fireplace mantle… haven’t installed it properly yet… but it looks great (love the crankin’ sound). So this is my living room this evening. I’m alone tonight… family festiveness tomorrow & Boxing Day. In this film you will see my cat Joe, lots of decorations & ceramic creatures and a picture of my Aunt Audrey (the lady in the cat eye glasses)… my decorating inspiration!
