SISSYDUDE HOTTIE #7 : Q & A with JOSEPH VARISCO!
SISSYDUDE HOTTIE Q & A with Joseph Varisco
Sissydude: Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?
Joseph: A muppet named Pancakes.
What is your favorite color?
I am usually late on aesthetic trends and off a few shades of the rainbow, but lately I’ve been diggin’ all sherbet colors.
What is your favorite soft drink?
I don’t have time for that. I like getting my juice and tea on lately. Ginger ale is my closest friend in the soft drink world.
What do you like to snack on?
[X]P and gummy worms.
Salty or sweet?
Why settle for just one. The best is always a combo of both.
What do you do for fun?
I look, collaborate and listen. I also get down with cooking dinner for my kin and dreaming up new projects and creative exchanges.
What is/are your favorite book/ books?
My first ever favorite book was A Wrinkle In Time and then The Neverending Story. They were the first two books I stayed up all night reading and cried when I had to close the last page. The last book I read that transported me that effectively was re-reading my favorite Vonnegut The Sirens of Titan. However, I am also a big graphic novel nerd and like my mind getting lost in Grant Morrison’s works.
Favorite movie/ movies?
Network, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, The Science of Sleep, Breathless and Down By Law
Favorite art/ artists?
Kiam Marcelo Junio | H. Melt | Janie Stamm | Wes Perry | Nicole Garneau | GNAT | Jonathan Mathias | Melissa Sue Stanley | too many more to name, but if you follow my tumblr jrvmajesty.tumblr.com I spend most of my time documenting what they are all up to, interviewing them and adoring their work in the community.

SISSYDUDE LOVES: Trailer for ‘GINGERS’ a film by Antonio Da Silva
GINGERS / teaser from Antonio da Silva Films on Vimeo.
“I just watched the full version of this today. It’s so sexy… provocative… lovely. These men are just so beautiful to look at and when you add listening to them talk about their experiences being red haired… well it just makes for a surprisingly complex viewing.” – Sissydude

Redheads. Fire crotches… This film collects samples of their testimonials and their body hair, skin and sperm. It is about being different genetically, about gay gingers, doubly in a minority, from Ireland to Israel to Brazil. A film made especially for ginger lovers. – Antonio Da Silva

A CREATIVE LIFE: It’s NEVER TOO LATE! It’s TRUE!!!
I was let go from my day job recently. It was a bit of a shock… yet kinda funny in a way. I had a few pissed off “FUCK THEM!” days.
But it’s all good… I take it as a positive swift kick in the ass!
Truly.
I’ve almost been unemployed for a month and I just seem to finally be getting it back together and “focusing” (not on that work time schedule anymore). Thank goddess for a good severance package so I have time to work on what I really want to do.
I’ve been an artist pretty much all my life (except maybe from birth to 8 months). The thing is I’ve never seemed to make a living as just an artist. There has always been full & part-time work involved so I can stay a float. I’ve seen friends after years of struggle finally get to do what they love full-time & survive, some just through talent, guts and/or luck have just been doing it from the get go. It’s inspiring to see how they blossom. I can be a tad jealous of them at times but when you love them it’s easily manageable.
Well, I’m a late bloomer. I come from a family of them I’m told.
SISSYDUDE LOVES: sean m. through the years! (sissydude follower shares his awesome personal pics)
“Dear Mr. Webster -
I have been a big fan of Sissydude across many incarnations (I also love Daily Squirt). I particularly appreciate that your concept of a handsome male is not confined to stereotypes. It’s clear, that as I am, you are a lover of facial hair. With that in mind I thought that might appreciate a few photos of me that show me in early 1970s to 2013.” – Sean M.
