SIDNEY SHORR: A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND (pilot TV movie for LOVE, SIDNEY)

So the New York Times just posted this fucking “ELEVATING” Dinner for One article and it made me immediately think of sad-sack Sidney Shorr eating his macaroni salad and sliced deli chicken… cus that’s what single people do… they don’t make corn salad… EVER. XO

A well-to-do gay gentleman in his 50’s, Sidney Shorr, befriends a troubled single mom and her young daughter in Central Park. Their friendship gradually grows, and eventually he takes the two under his wing and into his home. It’s the 2 hr Pilot TV movie for the Tony Randall series Love, Sidney that was the first program on American television to feature a gay character as the central lead, although for the series, Sidney’s homosexuality was almost entirely downplayed from its subtle yet unmistakable presence in the two-hour pilot.
