SISSYDUDE LOVES: The NEW Crows Nest Barber Shop & THAT Vivienne Westwood MAGNOLIA wallpaper on the ceiling.
I’ve been going to The Crows Nest Barbershop for a few years now. LOVE the place. Jimmy cuts my hair. Anyhoo, they just moved into a new space and it looks pretty AMAZING! The old shop had more of a classy frat boy den look… the new space went more old world. They ditched all the skateboard/vintage Playboy magazine/ 90’s cool guy stuff but kept the Jesus paraphernalia (less tacky Jesus… more creepy pretty Jesus).
Sure they went for the classic subway tile, black lacquer trim and light turquoise walls… but they went (((BAM BAM BAM))) on the ceiling with the Westwood Magnolia wallpaper. With the thick ornate bright white crown moldings, boy this really makes a statement. The wallpaper echoes all those beautiful bark cloth curtains from the ’30s, ’40s & ’50s but close up it’s a total digitized “cutout” effect which wouldn’t be as lovely on the walls. But up 12 feet in the air… stunning! Sissydude LOVES… indeed!

There are two more softer colour options of this Vivienne Westwood design for Cole & Son, but we think the black backdrop is most reminiscent of the grande dame.
