Rita Abrams (born August 30, 1943) is an American songwriter, performer and writer. Her song “Mill Valley”, recorded with children at the school where she was teaching, was released under the name Miss Abrams and the Strawberry Point Third Grade Class in 1970, becoming a Billboard Hot 100 hit and being nominated for a Grammy.

    That’s where I’m from. Boy- what a difference it now. From old people, to a hot shirtless flutist to kids in bow ties and hippies- it’s all different now. Bottle-blondes with driving Range Rovers to private schools with no music classes, pilates abs and premium sound systems. Thanks for reminding me about the better times. If you go, take a killer hike on the mountain that looks like a naked lady. That hasn’t changed and never will.
