This clip depicts Virginia O’Brien’s nightmare the night before she was to appear in her first film. She was under contract to MGM from 1941 to 1947 this clip was made in 1948 after which she was dropped.

    I got to work with VO’B in a production of SHOWBOAT at a CA civic light opera company in the 80′s – probably around the time of the pic with Charles Pierce. Loved her. Funny, kind, and just the right amount of crazy. Love your tribute to her, SD!!!
