God, how I loved HOMEFRONT, an American television drama series (created and produced by Lynn Marie Latham and Bernard Lechowick in association with Warner Bros Television for ABC). The show was set in the fictional city of River Run, Ohio in 1945, 1946, and 1947.
The show lasted two seasons (1991 – 1993, 42 episodes). It’s like a soap opera version of Mad Men. Even awesome John Slattery (Roger in Mad Men) co-stars… with less grey! The art direction, set design, costumes & hair are perfection (winning 4 Emmy awards). Watch it today and it still looks great. Kyle Chandler & Tammy Lauren really became the stars of this show. They’re a riot. Other cast members include Mimi Kennedy, Kelly Rutherford, Harry O’Reilly, Jessica Steen, Wendy Phillips & Hattie Winston.
The show’s theme song, “Accentuate the Positive”, was written by Johnny Mercer and performed by Jack Sheldon.
